The First Aid at Work qualification is a half day course with a minimum contact time of 4 guided learning hours as per the Health & Safety Executive. This course is designed for those that want an introduction to first aid and learn how to perform CPR and an introduction of an AED. CPR is a life saving skill that as many of the cardiac arrests happen outside of the hospital. By learning CPR, this gives you the skills and knowledge to potentially save someones life.
Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a written assessment. A three year Level 2 Award in Basic Life Suppot (Level 4 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.
This course is certified by First Aid Awards and on successful completion of the course you will be provided with a FAA Level 2 Basic Life Support (RQF). This certification lasts for three years from the date of the course. When you need to renew you will need to attend the full BLS course again.
The course can hold up to a maximum of 12 delegates per course and all delegates must be at least 16 years old.
